[speaker-sypha, modern] "Okay, but Trevor's voice when he's been sleeping, just woken up...." She hums and knocks him with her shoulder. "Doesn't it just make your knees weak?"
He joined in on her hum but quickly chuckled at the mental image.
“Disheveled hair? Adorable tired look in his eyes? His voice is so deep it makes the bed shake?”
A pause before he grins.
“Only way to make it better is if he was moaning out my name. Again.”
“ i don’t have anything like that…my hexes grant me extra defensive capabilities. ” he waves his hand, gathering shadows into his hands in a simple gesture. “ mine require i be rather close to my enemies, though. you saw how that worked for me. ”
He watched the shadows curl around his hands with interest.
“I’m rather sure you just picked the wrong enemy. Many of my spells are for range, but I have very little mobility.”
“Plenty. Don’t suppose you have much, in a place like this?”
He blew gently on the chili, before taking a bite. It burned his tongue pleasantly, against the tin bowl and fork.
It was nice.
“Take in vagabonds often?”
He hummed, letting the food cool down a bit more. Causal conversation was in short supply and he wanted to take advantage. “I get a few from the other hunters that frequent the trails. Besides that, only have stories on keeping wild dogs and bandits off the property.”
The question had him hesitate for the first time, rolling over the option to defend himself or explain. “Well… I’m a good judge of character. If a honest person wants to work for shelter and some food then I don’t see anything wrong with it.”
“Bounty hunter. Hunt down criminals, and take them in for money.”
He leaned his back against the wall, after taking-off the leather, the layers. He shut his eyes against the fire.
“Can work leather for you.”
“That so?” He looked over with interest, but he didn’t press immediately. He took the food off the heat and poured the rest into two separate bowls. He walked over, handling the other man his promised chili.
“I guess that means you have a lot of stories.” Instead of returning to his seat, he chose the opposite wall of the hunter.
