         “ i don’t have anything like that…my hexes grant me extra defensive capabilities. ” he waves his hand, gathering shadows into his hands in a simple gesture. “ mine require i be rather close to my enemies, though. you saw how that worked for me. ”

He watched the shadows curl around his hands with interest. 

“I’m rather sure you just picked the wrong enemy. Many of my spells are for range, but I have very little mobility.”
